Default 40 amp fuse behind dash

took dash out today and i seen a large 40 amp fuse behind the dash is blown what does it control ?


its behind the steering wheel

next to some relays

Ive seen it, not sure what it does. Ill have to check on that bugger.

I'm browsing the 1995 Electrical Troubleshooting Manual and haven't seen mention of a 40amp fuse yet.

Its there on all my tis, i havent traced it to anything before but it has never been blown.

Could that be Fuse 48 for the second stage auxiliary fan?

that has to be it. check your heater, see if it works. might be hard tho, since it is so hot out. but fuse 48 says "auxiliary fuse box" and is a 40amp fuse. it controls a fan and a relay that is related to the heater.

with your fuse blown, do u know if your auxillary fan is still working?

my fan works still . my car does run a tad bit warm like the needle is a 1/8th on the hot side instead of dead middle.
