Thanks in Advance __________________ | | | 01-23-2006, 04:18 AM | #2 | doesn't care about you. Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Denver, CO Posts: 3,925 | Quote: Originally Posted by 1rstbmw! The 1 hp you are gaining isn't worth it. __________________ '99 Dinan M3 | | | 01-23-2006, 04:31 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2004 Location: Tennessee Posts: 523 | Unique design and shielded location eliminate any water ingestion concerns. Large-area air filter is washable, reusable and guaranteed for 1 million miles. That's what it says from bavautos website, it may be the splash pannel but I do have water ingestion problems. What type of dammage can water ingestion do?Hydro lock? __________________ | | | 01-23-2006, 04:46 AM | #4 | doesn't care about you. Besides that, you'll dirty up everything in your intake tract __________________ '99 Dinan M3 | | | 01-23-2006, 04:56 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2004 Location: Tennessee Posts: 523 | I would guess I have more power out of the stock airbox than a dirty/wet racing filter. __________________ | | | 01-23-2006, 09:41 AM | #6 | Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Chicago Posts: 31 | wet/dirty = bad CAI's are notorious for hydro lock. if it hangs low and comes up different then how you started, it's bad (minds outta the gutter fellas). if you go for the CAI route, make sure you have that filter protected. Ram Air intakes are easier to deal with, since it sits in the same spot as the normal air box (just "less resistance"). Dirty filters will def fill your chambers with excess debris, cutting into fuel efficiency, and a wet filter will mean you're diluting the combo with water. in any case, both = bad. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
