Default Cleaning under the Valve Cover.

Doing the coolant system rebuild soon and am going to remove the valve cover for easier access to that silly plastic y pipe in the back. I was looking for writeup on how to clean up the engine with the valve cover off.

I read the DIY and it only says to clean the cover to your liking. Jess suggests cleaning the outlet to the CCV but not sure what cleaning products to use and how thoroughly to clean the inside of the engine with the valve cover off.

I know many people that have gotten a sparkling m20 valve cover via the pots and pans cycle on their dishwasher.

And I've seen some degunking videos on youtube where they douse the inside with carb cleaner, but that usually involves removing the oil pan.

So any cleaning tips greatly appreciated!
