 Throttle cable alternatives
So i acquired a second TI recently. it used to belong to one of my bosses. she was driving on the freeway and her alternator locked up and it caught fire. melted a few things.... since i already have one, and she wasnt willing to spend the time getting it fixed, she gave it to me. sweet. free TI. cant complain. so ive been trying to sort out what of all the crispy bits from the fire i need to replace. ive got a wiring harness, new throttle body, sensors, alternator, belts/tensioners... the one thing that i cant source is a throttle cable. no used ones on EBAY and from BMW its on backorder with no ETA on when they will make some more. I know that a different cable is used on the DASC to re locate the throttle which got me thinking if i could find a cable that is more available that would work for this car. anybody have any ideas on what other cables would work without much of an issue with clearances and excess cable length? |
