I bolted my LTW and someone tried to steal it ( i found marks as if it was attempted to being pulled off) and I was glad I bolted it in. Also like people said if it falls off and hits another drivers windshield, say bye bye to ur ti hah. | | | 10-18-2011, 06:42 AM | #17 | Member Join Date: Sep 2011 Location: Australia Posts: 50 | I'm definitely going to bolt it down! I am still waiting on the parts to be delivered though. The M3 badge & Mounting Kit were special order parts that Pelican Parts had to have sent from Germany. Hopefully I receive them soon! The spoiler has been sprayed and is ready to go though. | | | 04-17-2012, 11:30 AM | #18 | Member Join Date: Sep 2011 Location: Toronto/Munich Posts: 83 | Quote: Originally Posted by Biolite One thing I would strongly recommend when installing the spoiler, it to make sure you install the gasket that goes around the bottom edges. In the winter this is a problem. I had the gasket on mine, but it shrunk or something and I came out one morning in the winter to broken spoiler from what freezing underneath and breaking the stud out of the spoiler. Fixed it with some nice epoxy, and you can't even tell, but just a word of caution. | Does anyone know what gasket this is referring to? A mate of mine purchased the kit and when I mentioned this recommendation to him he said there was no gasket provided in what he got. I noticed an online consensus that the one to use is the red tape, but I found it for sale online as 3M VHB 5386 double sided tape and 3M VHB 4919 Double sided tape. Anyone know the difference? | | | 03-08-2013, 04:20 PM | #20 | Member Join Date: Sep 2011 Location: Toronto/Munich Posts: 83 | Quote: Originally Posted by roadrash Regarding the M-Tech logo... It has studs coming out of the bottom. What kind of spoiler could it be? __________________ '96 318ti California Edition- Montreal blue '68 1600-2-Caribe blue | | | 03-09-2013, 01:20 AM | #22 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: SW Florida Posts: 4,275 | Do you have a picture of it? __________________ Sean 1995 Active | | | 03-09-2013, 06:07 AM | #23 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2012 Location: Sacramento, CA Posts: 2,451 | Matt, it's a M-tech if it's the one you got from Mikhail. I suspect it had been repainted. there is a pic of it in the original sale thread. I'd like to know from owners how the two spoilers function? Can you feel any better adhesion when driving fast? Do you notice better mileage due to smoother aerodynamics? Higher top speed? I ask because I'm most interested in performance enhancement, although aesthetics are a pleasant side effect | | | 03-09-2013, 04:57 PM | #25 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2009 Location: Ft Defiance, AZ Posts: 686 | Quote: Originally Posted by dontomask I'd like to know from owners how the two spoilers function?
