Thinking about trading it for a 1990 RX7 with low miles and in near mint condition.

I sent you an email last Thursday explaining the process in detail. Anyway, in case you didn't get it, here's a link to the writeup:

not the TI, but working on the jetta, replacing the timing belt, lightweight crank shaft pulley, water pump, t-stat, timing belt tensioner, accesorie belt and all that fun stuff, and then droping off the car to the shop, they r gonna port and polish the head, install new HD valve springs, 276 cam, and do the 3 angle valve job and all that good stuff

Default staggered rims

Installed the new staggered rims in the rear with a 265/35/18 looks ok to me.

Default Heck yeah! Started on the second key turn.

Reassembled the cam cover, put back all the stuff( wires, battery etc.)
Turned the engine through a few compression cycles by hand and then started her up.

Holy crap what an awfull sound!!!

I will say that you're almost there and if a little encouragement will help out, I'd like to offer it. I have a spare set of shocks and struts laying in my garage. They're not blown, but they only have a little life left in them. You can have them for free if you want to cover shipping. I know Bluebimma(Tony) has a couple transmissions laying around in his garage. He's selling them for really cheap, I think he even said free if you're willing to pick it up. ECU's cost about a hundred bucks and you might be able to bypass the EWS in order to save money having it realigned. Hang in there man. Don't get too worked up, afterall it's just a car. I haven't driven mine in a couple years, but from what I remember they're really fun

Hence my post in his thread about the free trans (and exhaust that I could use). He's about 500 miles (one way) from me. Bit of a haul in my 16mpg wagon. I don't know if it's an ECU issue or a bad sensor causing my problems. It's tough to troubleshoot without spare parts or some more info on the part itself. Just tossing $400 parts at it on a guess is a bit out of my price range.

Are they fun? I hope they are, because mine isn't. I've NEVER driven anything that understeers or rolls through the turns this bad. And I drive panther chassis cars! (crown vic, grand marquis, towncar, country squire)

Thanks for the offer on the struts, those are somewhat low priority. I'd rather make it run and move properly first.

Well y'all, I can't say I did a damn thing to the Ti today - got naked and had a bunch of great sex. Now I'm tired so I think I'll take a nap.

Cheers.
