no, the diff is not with the rear. It is mounted to the underside the "trunk" floor with a pair of semi-trailing arms to locate the hubs. Between the hubs and the diferential are fully articulated half shafts with Constant velocity joints at each end. So no, your car does not have a solid rear axle like a mustang or a camaro, but a system very similar to that of the E30 M3. As a note.. you may see them for sale, but do not worry about buying a rear 'strut" bar. they do nothing for our cars as all the pivoting and strength is held down on the floor of the car. |
