Still no clue on what size speakers are it the car. Looked in the forum and google. This is what i came up with for a 99 ti Front: 5-1/4", 3-1/2" Rear: 4" Kick panel: 5-1/4" Front door: 3-1/2" Rear deck: 4" But i dont understand that. Is there 6 or 10 speakers in the car? So in the front there is two dif. size of speakers? I know in the back it has the 2.... 4" speakers In the front there is the 2.... 5-1/4? In the doors there are 2.... 3-1/2 Is this how it is? __________________ 99 black ti sport | | | 07-29-2007, 09:05 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: Stamford, CT <-> Boston, MA Posts: 1,393 | Off the top of my head, 2 in each door. 1 in each front footwell. 1 Behind each passenger head along the C Pillar, none in the rear deck. I haven't really looked into the audio so let me know if I've missed one. __________________ BMWCCA #403399 2012 Mini Cooper S Clubman, 6-Speed Loaded 2001 325xi, Winter Package, 5-Speed Traded 1998 318ti, Active, Automatic, TOTAL LOSS R.I.P. 10/20/08 Bilstein Sport Shocks/Struts . I have the sport. 2- 5.25" at the foot panel, 2 - rear 4" speakers, 2 - tweeters in the rear, 2 - tweeters on the door panel, and then 2- 3.5" (??) speakers on the door panel (not to sure on the size of those tho) it'd be 11 if you have a sub in the trunk | | | 07-29-2007, 09:20 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: Toledo, OHIO Posts: 332 | Thank you guys. That's 2 tweeters in the door, 2 mids in the door, 2 woofers in the foot wells, 2 rear deck tweeters, 2 rear deck woofers. I just swapped my rear deck tweeters/woofers for new 5.25" 2-way speakers. If that is a ten speaker system, then I have one. My doors have the same speakers as this picture. Quote: Originally Posted by Bloodrunsdry sweet. For some stupid reason car manufacturers like to consider a two-way speaker as two seperate speakers when you look at the total count... So the rear two-way speakers gets counted twice for 4 speakers in the back and 6 upfront. | | | 07-30-2007, 07:23 PM | #10 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | Quote: Originally Posted by mohaughn Yeah.. So yes, it is a 10 speaker system, not a great system, but still 10 speakers. I'm working on replacing all of my speakers as well. Thinking about replacing the door and rear deck speakers with 5.25's and better tweets, kick panel speakers with 6.5's, all powered by a seperate amp via an electronic crossover along with my Orion amp and 10" sub in a custom enclosure. If all goes well, you shouldn't be able to see any of it. I'd like it to remain stealth. | | | 07-30-2007, 09:30 PM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: Toledo, OHIO Posts: 332 | I know ti. have bad sound so i was looking into getting new speakers. 10 is alot to replace all at once. In aftermarket car stereo it is sold as 1 speaker because it is mounted together. It confuses most people because that is not how the aftermarket would define it. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Thread Tools | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
