I really like Interlagos Blue, but this Inka looks awesome if you want something in the orange family.

Didn't someone here on the site have an orange 318ti?? I think it was in TX, but could be wrong.

I remember that, he got it painted by Maaco and put a bunch of universal eBay stuff on it when he was younger, then after he began regretting it tried to sell it here, I have pics of it, I'll post them up

Don't post them in this thread... unless KINGAMR wants you to. I think we've cluttered up this thread quite enough already.

hey amr.. can you get a shot of the type 32s on the car.. looking down from the fender. in other words, how wide? i'll be rolling/pulling my fenders before paint, so i know i'll clear. are you using hubcentric rings also, b/c of the bore difference in the e39rims? i'm considering bolt on spacers, or maybe some 10mm slip ons with longer bolts.. 20/26 just isnt enough.. haha. my GS300 is +11 frt and -2 rear

Go ahead & post the pics guys just for reference & the color of the M3 is exactly the orange I'm thinking of. Technoviolet, Daytona violet, Atlantis Blue,Imola red, Dakar Yellow & British racing are some of the colors I'm still considering. Technoviolet is actually a very fascinating color that I think the camera is never really able to capture & do justice since it has 2 different color pearls. EPik-I'll be using the hubcentric rings,I also got pics from the front & the back to see how the tires stick out under the fender,I'll post them up. I was thinking I was going to make that $800 back after selling the drivetrain & the rims but so far nobody is getting on the deals I'm putting out there. Patrick-Thanks for the tip on the skirts, I got the templates with my purchase as well so they should come in handy since I'm also doing it on another project. Thanks for all the replies & support guys,I appreciate it!
Here's the other project that keeps me busy away from my ti:

Front Fender Clearance:

Rear Fender clearance:

For some reason I can't find the pics of the trailing arms installed with new bushings & a nice clean diff cover with the new bushing. I'll get them later on today. Enjoy!

here it is, the color itself doesn't look too bad ignoring the rims, exhaust, wing, etc.

Was that a cf hood on it? It looks weird for some reason. The color isn't bad but the acessories definitely play a part in the presentation,what's the name of the color or the code by any chance?

no idea, he said he had it painted at Maaco so it's probably just some generic orange, I don't think the hood's CF since it does have the holes in it to mount the roundel badge, which most CF hoods don't, it does look like there's something up with the panel gap though, wouldn't be surprised if it had been crashed at one point

Quick update: Started the bodywork today by sanding the clear coat and marking all the areas that need attention. ordered a zf tranny from Bavarian Auto Recycling and got the engine parts ready to go to the machine shop.
As I promised you guys this build would be different from the other swaps, one of the differences is the engine.Here is what it's made up of:
-S52 block
-M52 head with custom specs
-Oversized valves
-Custom springs
-Custom regrind cams done by American Custom Cams
-Custom modified crankshaft
-Custom H-beam forged rods
-Custom pistons
-ARP hardware
Now to the calculations:
* Number of Cylinders are = 6
* Piston Diameter = 86.400 Millimeters
* Engine Stroke = 95.800 Millimeters
Which yields:
* Computed Engine Displacement (Litres) is 3.4
I will also use:
-M50 intake manifold
-E39 540 throttle body
-E39 540 HFM
-No ASC
-Custom intake plumbing
-24lbs injectors
-SS exhaust manifold
-Custom exhaust setup with magnaflow cat & muffler
-Custom tuning
Hoping for good numbers out of this setup & most of all to be ready before bfest 2010!318ti.org will be bringing quiet a few good swaps this time.
