Posts: 3,156 | Yeah, you could say that. I've resigned myself to something more tame than a bored big-block... I'm searching for an (original) 1971 340 demon in curiuos yellow. I'm guessing less than ten were made, so I may waste my life looking for one. This color was special order only. It was SO bright that it actually HURTS your eyes to look at in sunlight. It was BANNED by the DOT and was never re-used again. I MUST have it... I have seen it live. It's a nasty-ish highliter yellow. It really does HURT your eyes to loook at on a sunny day. No kidding. Awesome color. If you see one (and you won't soon forget it if you do) let me know! | | | 06-25-2004, 11:47 PM | #18 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Tulsa/Ft Worth Posts: 102 | ooo R32s.. those are nice. I looked at those, but I'm still in love with the 300 all-wheel drive horsepower the STi puts out. 0-60 in 4.6 seconds makes me cringe I'd give anything just to drive some of the cars you've owned though J!m. The '71 Cuda especially, love roadrunners too.. __________________ uhm...yeah...Vrooom | | | 06-26-2004, 01:14 AM | #19 | Moderator Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Bouncing off the rev limiter in CT! Posts: 3,156 | Don't get too jealous. The 'cuda was nice (and fairly rare- factory black with green interior, six cylinder with air, but manual brakes and steering- really weird build. HAD to be special ordered. The 71 RR was a 383 car, again manual brakes (crazy) and steering. But I always liked that body style of the '71 B-body. The later RR was a 360HP I think. Sold it to a guy I worked with who drove it into a guard rail... He bought my '71 Demon as well. Maybe I can get that back and make a replica of my dream car... I have the RARE front dics brake set-up and 8 3/4 rear with the german helmet brake drums... Hell, I'll throw a 440 in it if it's going to be a faker anyway. That'll peel the paint off yer house when it goes by when I get done with it... | | | 06-29-2004, 05:06 AM | #20 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2004 Location: Sydney, Australia Posts: 593 | 1993 BMW E36 318i (186rwhp), 5spd manual 1995 BMW E36 318ti, 4 spd auto stocker 1996 BMW E36 318ti Sports (258rwhp), 5 spd manual | | | 08-20-2004, 04:42 PM | #21 | Junior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Posts: 16 | This is fun. I bought it for $400 in horrible, smashed up shape, and me and my dad fixed it up into the $1500 car it is today. Its still a pile and it still breaks down alot, but it was the car that introduced me to alot of the basic and more advanced (swapping power steering racks) car mechanic techniques. __________________ Crystal: Blue 1999 318ti w/California Sunroof and M-tech body kit | | | 08-24-2004, 10:46 PM | #24 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Tyler, TX Posts: 1,022 | 1993 Geo Storm GSi. This was my baby and still the best car that I have ever owned. It was the only auto that I've ever had but it would out burn out anything else (3700 rpm stall TC will do that) 1982 Datsun 280ZX got this right after the geo got in a wreck. It was a decent car, but it had some rust bebbling through and it was a PITA to work on. But when it ran it was awesome, LSD for a 1st gen 300ZX, 4.33:1 rear end, and 235/60/14's 1996 BMW 318ti It was pure chance that I got this car. It was sitting in a used car lot and I went in thinking it'd be kinda fun just to drive. Anyways long story short I owned the car 4 days later | | | 08-26-2004, 11:50 PM | #25 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Indiana Posts: 256 | 1987 Olds Cutlass supreme 1997 cavalier convertible ( bought to resell) 1998 S-10 Pick up 2.2L 5 speed Current 1998 BMW 318ti active package loaded with heated seats, sunroof, leather 5 speed 1967 Dodge Dart 318 ci V-8 auto | | | 08-28-2004, 03:22 AM | #26 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2003 Location: Walnut Creek, CA Posts: 642 | 1975 911S targa (now with a 3.0L SC motor) owned since new, still have it 1996 Toyota Tercel.....owned since new, the most reliable car ever!
