My name's Bobby, I'm from San Diego.. I'm looking to buy a 318ti soon for a daily driver, and I came across this forum while looking into them. I'll probably be posting more about the one I'm looking at in the "I'm thinking about buying a ti" forum. Anyway, I currently own a '94 Mitsubishi 3000GT Vr4 and a '94 Honda Passport. The Honda is my current DD, but the gas mileage is terrible, and it's just an overall piece of ****. I'm going to be selling it as soon as I get a 318, hopefully I'll be able to get about $1k out of it. The 3000GT is my baby. Gas mileage sucks on that too, on top of the tags being expired since 2004. It sits garaged most of the time, with the exception of meets and car shows. The car I'm looking at right now is a 1999 318ti, 73k miles, White, and unfortunately it's an ATX. I've always wanted an e36. I actually almost bought a 325is instead of the VR4, but then I test drive both.. and well.. you know. After going through several POS daily drivers (mostly Hondas), I finally want to spend a little more on a nice car that would be a little more fun to drive every day than a fwd Honda. With that, I ended up deciding on a 318ti. So that's my story. Hope to meet you guys soon. | | | 02-01-2008, 11:06 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: Land of the Vikings Posts: 2,700 | good luck on the hunt for the ti mate there are some real nice examples to be found, so be picky __________________ Vin Number decode and Retrofit Pdfs Available Free ! I'm sure you'll love the ti once you have it. Gas mileage is nice, it handles great, it looks sweet, and though the engine lacks massive hp, the stock gearing manages to make it pretty fun to get around in (combined with the handling, of course). Put up some pics of your old 3000gt __________________ | | | 02-03-2008, 12:46 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | ooh... It just stays in the garage most of the time. Almost all the emissions controls are off the car, so it doesn't pass smog, hence the tags being 2004. It only goes to car meets and car shows, with the exception of the occasional weekend joyride Anyway..
