LOL Have you considered using "Forever Black" (or something similar) to make the moldings black again? __________________ Real men know how to SEARCH! That stuff doesn't chip at all (& very very clingy to EVERYTHING it touches) and it has the same finish as they would brand new. But with forever black you might as well take the molding off. It can't touch painted surfaces Last edited by Dumpy; 02-19-2010 at 12:44 AM. | | | 02-19-2010, 12:54 AM | #8 | That's not Millpoint Blue Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: BNA Posts: 3,161 | Quote: Originally Posted by WashDC318ti roadrash, have you worked with that "forever black" stuff before? would it necessitate removal of the molding (i.e. how careful do you have to be with it)? | It's been 5-6 years since I used it on my previous car. I didn't take the molding off, I was just very careful to not get any on the paint, and then to quickly wipe off any that did get on the paint. That car, and my current one, were both black so I wasn't particularly worried. :-) __________________ Real men know how to SEARCH! It might be the old school BMW in me buy I prefer the molding to stay its natural color. | | | 02-19-2010, 07:59 AM | #12 | Junior Member Join Date: Aug 2008 Location: San Jose, Costa Rica Posts: 17 | E36's look better with black moldings, with the matched color moldings, it looks like the car has been repainted or something. But then again, that's just my opinion. | | | 02-19-2010, 09:29 AM | #13 | Junior Member Join Date: Nov 2009 Location: South Carolina Posts: 16 | Quote: Originally Posted by miguelon2085 E36's look better with black moldings, with the matched color moldings, it looks like the car has been repainted or something.
