My 98 ti just busted its head gasket and my mechanic also found lower end damage. So I'd have to spend (this is Brooklyn) about 4-4.5k to rebuild the engine (my mechanic refuses to do swaps.) So my question is, though I'd hate to do it, what is the car worth for parting (I'd want buyer to take entire car, as I have no place to store it)? Is this forum the place to advertise it or Craig's list or?? Fwiw, has brand new (1 month) tires, and Depo headlamps... | | | 08-09-2017, 08:10 PM | #2 | Member Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: Chicago Posts: 33 | Post some pics and what you hope to get for it along with some details on the car. | | | 08-09-2017, 11:56 PM | #3 | Junior Member Join Date: Jul 2017 Location: Salt Lake City Posts: 20 | Quote: Originally Posted by cmurthi My 98 ti just busted its head gasket and my mechanic also found lower end damage. I wouldn't expect much for yours since someone will have to invest quite a bit to get running. Maybe try finding a new mechanic to do swap? At least then you would get upgrade. Turquoise green Active model, brand new Falken tires (< 400 miles), newish (1 yr) Depo HID headlamps and sidelamps, most body trim parts in good shape. Front end and brake jobs recently. Engine does run but probably better if towed (from Park Slope, Brooklyn). Asking 750 obo. Car's in shop, don't have photos but a photo wouldn't add much to the description. | | | 08-30-2017, 04:42 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2012 Location: SLO, CA Posts: 168 | PM'd about headlights. __________________ Sleeper Calypsorot 1996 318ti tintop.
