Default Can an M44 engine use Megasquirt?

Hey guys I was just wondering, about MS and the M44. I know that MS is quite straight forward on the M42 but how easy is it to get it working on the M44?

It should be almost identical to getting it running on the M42 other than a few sensors are digital as opposed to analog. So you would just have to spec out the base MS3 board and accessories correctly. There is a guy on bimmerforums that will build the MS3 box for you with the correct add-ons for your particular car...

As far as tuning maps, they should be almost identical to the M42. There was actually somebody on here that was running their m44 with an m42 DME, and everything worked with the exception of the crankshaft or camshaft position sensor. Can't remember which.

I know of one person from this forum that was trying to figure out the best way to get MS3 up an running on an M44. Not sure what ever happened with his project. There are several people on the MS forums and on m42club that are running MS on an E30 M42. The E30 M42 does have some differences from the E36 M42.
