Default doh! locked keys in car

after a good round of golf tonight, i lock my keys in my car as its parked in my driveway. i wasnt worried until i find that my spare key magnet box thing gone from underneath my car.

i managed to pop open a back window but haent gotten much farther.

my local locksmith should be an LSD posterchild so id reather not have him work on my beloved ti unless need be. anyone else been in this position and came out successful w/o the help of a locksmith?

I don't believe you can use a slim-jims on BMWs.

Another alternative is to have BMW make you a new key using the VIN.
It will take some time.

You said you popped open a back window. Unless your keys are in the ignition, you'd need a lot of patience, but I'm sure you can snake a really long semi stiff wire in there and snag your keys.

A magnet on a stick might work as well if the keys are loose in the car. I think you can lock the car with the hatchback raised, and if you set the keys in it you could close the hatch and lock them in the car, but otherwise I am at a loss for how you lock your keys in this car as you have to have the key to lock the door.

Geez and here I thought it was impossible to lock your keyes in your car on the ti. The only way I see it's possible is your keyes were in your car and your passenger hit the lock button on the passenger side then it would lock.

FYI….
AAA does not use slim jims on your cars anymore.

Nah, the passenger lock only locks that door. It won't lock them all.

I'm not sure you can lock it with the hatch raised either. . .my remote refuses to lock unless all doors and the hatch are solidly closed. I think the only thing I can leave open and still lock the car is the fuel door.

I locked my keys in my car once... I have a Viper Alarm installed. It took me three hours of fiddling with coat hangars, sticks, etc. and having cops almost arrest me for trying to break into my own car. I called AAA, and they were there in under an hour... he opened my car in less than 30 seconds. I was quite impressed.

Only way I can think of right now. . .the windows are rolled down. Remove key from ignition, sit down in seat or center console. Exit car. Push down lock on driver door. Walk away. Comfort relay misfires and rolls up windows. . .

then just lean the window out and climb in

:no responibility taken for any stolen Ti´s in north amrerican area:
