Default 2 questions from a newbie

Just picked up the new "used" ti last night. There are a couple of minor issues that need to be addressed on the exterior. Thanks in advance.

1) First off, there is plastic or plastic-type material peeling from the door/window strip - how do you replace this or address this problem? I read somewhere this might be a tsb?!

2) I have the matte looking plastic skirts all around the car (1995) which looks dull, grey and whitish from leftover wax. How do I make it look clean and dark again? What products do you recommend?

The B pillar tape can be just plain removed, replaced with stock, removed/painted black or covered with carbon fiber. That's what most people have done.

The skirts sound like you will get many differing answers. Go to the bimmerforums.com show/shine section and search. You'll find answers.
