Little bit of rust converter body filler and primer. That's going to be cheaper then having the panel cut out and a new one wielded in. The winter here has taken its toll on my rear fender, the paint has a rust hue on the bottom layer & my hatch body filler just cracked today. I just did the body work too | | | 02-25-2010, 01:39 AM | #123 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | that's the same place mine was rusted when I got it | | | 02-25-2010, 02:46 AM | #124 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2009 Location: Burlington, NJ Posts: 560 | the only true way to repair rust is to cut it out and weld in new panels, or portions of panels. __________________ 1996 318ti - 2000 Z3 2.3 - 2012 MINI Cooper Hatchback | | | 02-25-2010, 06:08 AM | #125 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2006 Location: Westfield, IN Posts: 1,335 | Quote: Originally Posted by Dumpy You can handle that! I just did the body work too | actually i'm going to buy a rear quarter panel from tischer and since my friend's family owns a body shop i'm going to bring it to them when i get home for spring break, and just might have them repaint the whole car, i also need a new nose panel and to get the dings out of my doors __________________ Greg M42 Club member 186 WTB: HELLROT RED CLUB SPORT 95 ti sold but staying in the family. | | | 02-25-2010, 07:23 PM | #126 | Member Join Date: Jul 2008 Location: Pittsburgh Posts: 69 | Quote: Originally Posted by ChItalian1027 actually i'm going to buy a rear quarter panel from tischer and since my friend's family owns a body shop i'm going to bring it to them when i get home for spring break, and just might have them repaint the whole car, i also need a new nose panel and to get the dings out of my doors | Connections work even better | | | 02-25-2010, 09:00 PM | #127 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2009 Location: Burlington, NJ Posts: 560 | Quote: Originally Posted by ChItalian1027 actually i'm going to buy a rear quarter panel from tischer and since my friend's family owns a body shop i'm going to bring it to them when i get home for spring break, and just might have them repaint the whole car, i also need a new nose panel and to get the dings out of my doors | Way to go! I was thinking about the larger panel, thinking that the labor of welding and sanding the smaller parts would cost more than just fixing the existing panels. Oh well... no rush for me, I'll keep pondering that. And now... back to the actual topic of SNOW vs. 318ti. :-D __________________ Real men know how to SEARCH!
