the rust is the size of a quarter, so i'll leave it for now until i get a job or when i get home from school. i was thinking of buying a rear quarter panel from tischer. also may buy some other body pieces from them

You can handle that! Little bit of rust converter body filler and primer. That's going to be cheaper then having the panel cut out and a new one wielded in.

The winter here has taken its toll on my rear fender, the paint has a rust hue on the bottom layer & my hatch body filler just cracked today. I just did the body work too

the only true way to repair rust is to cut it out and weld in new panels, or portions of panels.

actually i'm going to buy a rear quarter panel from tischer and since my friend's family owns a body shop i'm going to bring it to them when i get home for spring break, and just might have them repaint the whole car, i also need a new nose panel and to get the dings out of my doors

Hmmm... now you've got me wondering if it would be cheaper to replace the whole quarter panels rather than repairing them.

Rear section Right
95-99 $108.57 $86.86

Rear section Left
95-99 $108.57 $86.86

these are the prices for the rear quarter panels. these are the savings the normal MSRP is $108.57 for both drivers side and passengers side

Yep, saw those. I was thinking about the larger panel, thinking that the labor of welding and sanding the smaller parts would cost more than just fixing the existing panels. Oh well... no rush for me, I'll keep pondering that.

And now... back to the actual topic of SNOW vs. 318ti. :-D

I slid on a patch of ice and the entire bottom dust shield completely cracked, the bumper is now full of snow (good ten pounds) the engine compartment was also filled with snow.... I'm very surprised that nothing else is broken!

last winter.. i slide into a curb, hit a tree, and slide into a parking lot (all at one shot, haha.. i went up and over the curb, hit the trees, and slide into the parking lot of the other side), which only bent my front right tire back about 5 inchs back into the wheel well... this winter, it took me 3 times longer to make it home after work one day.. i slide all over and hit lots of stuff, but no damage!! haha.. one thing about these cars are u can hit anything and not damage them.. haha
