Yea, I looked very closely at my friends e30. The base plates are way smaller than the e36. So I'm definitely going to go with e34's. Instead of drilling into door frame, I'm gonna wield a piece of sturdy metal onto there. Then I will drill holes that match up to the e34's pins. So that way I don't need to drill unnecessary holes into the door frame. __________________ Come get a ti-shirt Quote: From the e30 M3, evolved the e36. Seems a bit... counter-intuitive, personally. __________________ -Kenny | | | 01-28-2009, 11:11 PM | #33 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2008 Location: Austin Posts: 3,059 | This is what I found out with the e30 mirror: One of the holes will match up. The other will slightly overlap. And the 3rd will require a new hole. If I don't create a base for the base plate, the mirror will start to wobble. So a new base will need to be made from scratch, and drill holes that actually match. Wield it onto the metal. Then dremel off the access screws. It's the only way to keep it sturdy. Trust me, it's the only way possible that I can think of, without risking it being taken off with a nudge. The finished project wont look that bad because the base plate will be covering all the drama. __________________ Come get a ti-shirt Quote: From the e30 M3, evolved the e36. And it's even smaller with a e30. What about all that area exposed on the door? And what would happen if it rains? __________________ Come get a ti-shirt Quote: From the e30 M3, evolved the e36.
