Posts: 52 | How To Clean Idle Control Valve? Can anyone tell me, with pictures, where the idle control valve is located and details on how to clean it. Ever since I've had my car the RPM's fluctuate and the car shakes when at a stop and the CEL is on. I've searched for topics on this subject and all say to clean the ICV, and I'd like to know where it is and how to clean it. | | | 12-28-2006, 01:37 PM | #2 | Member Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: Roermond, Netherlands Posts: 41 | __________________ BMW arctic silver 318ti, 5-spd OEM-armrest - Smoked Corners, Smoked sidemarkers - M3 Contour Rims - K&N Inlay filter - Koni 1130 Sports kit suspension - Cross-drilled Sport Brakesdiscs, Ferodo DS Brake Pads, Sparco Steel-flex Brake lines - Back Strutbar - M-tech Steering wheel | | | 12-29-2006, 01:26 AM | #3 | Member Join Date: Jan 2006 Location: .. My engine is an M44. | | | 01-01-2007, 08:26 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: Oxford, Ohio Posts: 868 | M44's don't have ICV's, silly. | | | 01-01-2007, 09:21 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Halethorpe, MD Posts: 1,028 | Yes they do. It's right on the front of the throttle body. It's held on with two bolts, I can't remember if they're hex or torx, but it's really easy to get off and you can clean it with carb cleaner and Q-tips. It's part number 9 in the diagram in this link. http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...13&fg=15&hl=73 | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
