I'm looking to get new tires on my car and I was going to get 225/50/16 but when I called TireRack, they said that size wouldn't fit the ti without rubbing unless I adjusted the camber or rolled the fenders. Do you guys know if this is true? For those of you who have this size tire, did you have to do anything to enable those tires to fit without rubbing? | | | 11-26-2005, 12:33 AM | #2 | Member Join Date: Jul 2005 Location: Calgary, Alberta Posts: 89 | Tire Size That is the exact size of the tires that came with my car. The sport wheel package included the 16" rims with the 225/50-16. It is listed on the tire rack site somewhere, I found it while shopping for tires. | | | 11-26-2005, 05:43 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2005 Location: Vancouver, B.C. Which wheels are you currently running? __________________ | | | 11-26-2005, 03:40 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Jacksonville, Florida Posts: 322 | Currently I have 205/60-15's on my car. So the 225/50-16's will fit... but what if I lower my car an inch or so? Will they fit then, or would I need to adjust the camber / roll the fenders? The width of the wheels I'm getting are 7.5" and the offset is 40mm I think. | | | 11-26-2005, 08:46 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Maryland, USA Posts: 678 | 225/50/16s work fine without modification, even if your car is lowered. __________________ BostonGreen 97' w/ DASC & Technique Stage 1 software M3 front bumper. I don't know, but I ordered the 225's anyway, so we'll see how it works out. Thank you everyone for your help | | | 11-28-2005, 08:02 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2005 Location: Vancouver, B.C. Thank you everyone for your help | A 7" wide wheel with a 30mm offset would be roughly equivalent to a 7.5" wheel with an offset of 40mm in regards to how they would line up with the fenders. Anyways, you shouldn’t have a problem with your new setup, even if lowered. Just to note, a 7.5" rim usually runs a 205 or 215 mm tire. __________________ | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
