DISA valve replacement. What else to consider?

Greetings!
I helped a friend find this 09/98 ti several years ago - his first BMW. 175K miles. I posted this in the maintenance area but didn't get any replies.

The DISA valve needs to be replaced, so we wondered what else to do "while in there?" The cooling system and plastic connector pieces were replaced in summer 2012; alternator and A/C compressor replaced this past spring.

I'd imagine new manifolds gaskets would be required, but what else should be considered?
