Due to a corporate relocation, I'm paring down the car collection a bit, and my daily driver toy made the sell list. It's a 1995 318ti, with M52 transplant, Sport edition, 3.45 LSD, 147k on motor, 130k on body. Detailed description below. I use it as a daily driver, and would be comfortable driving it anywhere. Title: I have a Florida "rebuild" title in my name. Car was in an accident with a prior owner. Details unknown. The passenger door and passenger front fender are replacements, presumable at this incident. Car is located in Lakeland, FL, approximately 1/2 way between Orlando and Tampa. Asking price is $4,500. This is a lot of fun for the money. This definitely falls into the I will keep before I give it away category. Email or PM will be responded too fairly quickly, assuming I'm not in a meeting with the boss. Would prefer to deal with sellers directly. I'll update the thread with any common questions. Trying to sell to an enthusiast before I deal with the Craigslist craziness. If you have serious interest, send me your email, and I can you email a link to a folder full of high-res photos that I took tonight. Below are "teaser" photos :-) Body: - Car has been repainted at one time, and has very shiny paint. None of the clear coat damage common in Florida. - I would say that the paint appears a bit better in the photos than in person, as it does have some paint chip, scratch repairs. - Passenger door is clearly a replacement, as I suspect the front passenger fender. Door was red, and you can see some red in the jamb. - The one big negative of the body is some shoddy body work directly above the filler door as can be seen over photos. The filler cracked under the paint. It is limited to a specific area, and would be an easy fix. - Car is rust free for its age - Window tint on both doors has scratches - Recently installed the correct rear mud-flaps - I have the correct front lip for this bumper. I removed it as it was dragging on entry into my driveway - Good spare with jack - HALO style lights - Good fog lights Engine Transplant: - I did the engine transplant last fall - Engine / tranny donor was a totaled 1996 328i with 143k miles at the time - Just ran cold compression, 4 were at 220 psig, 1 was 215, and 1 was 225. - It's a very strong engine, pulls hard, and idles as smooth as can be. - Complete OBDI conversion including M50 manifold - 413 red DME with Turner Motorsports chip - Replaced water pump, thermostat, mechanical cooling fan - Installed rebuild injectors from DanO - New idler pulleys - New mounts - New hoses - Replaced oil pan, oil filter housing gaskets - Still have a very small annoying but harmless drip. Not enough to warrant top-off between oil changes, but will drip 1-2 drops per night in the garage - AC fully functional and recently charged - Installed the E36 electric pusher wired into the stock 318ti fan relays as additional cooling back-up - Battery relocated to hatch back area, using factory 328 battery harness - New battery Tranny: - 5 Speed ZF tranny - Replaced the detents and shift pins while it was out - Stock shifter with new bushings - M shift knob - 328 drive shaft with new CSB - Fresh red-line MTL fluid - New tranny mounts Diff: - 3.45 LSD diff was a factory option on the car and remains - Fresh red-line fluid Exhaust: - Aftermarket OBDI headers, presumably generic - OBD mid-pipe with resonators but no cats - 328 rear muffler Brakes: - New rotors all the way around - All hoses replaced - New pads - Upgraded front rotors and calipers to the larger 328 vented style Suspension: - Bilstein sports front and rear - New shock mounts front and rear - ACS springs - New Meyle HD control arms - New lower off-set control arm bushings - New tie-rods - Recent alignment after the front suspension was done - I would say the ride is stiff but not harsh, and is a blast to drive in the twisties - Still has a small steering wheel shimmy that sometimes appears between 60-65, and goes away above that. Not present on all road conditions. Wheel balance? Interior: - In very good shape for its age - Good door panels. Passenger side has two screw holes. I will include a leather / vinyl patch kit and black die to fix this problem - No cracks in dash - Back seat appears to have never been used - No cracks in seat - 6 cyl cluster with working fuel MPG gauge - All electronics functional, sunroof, gauges, windows, etc. - Stock stereo - Drivers side handle to access back side doesn't work, passenger side is fine. Never used the back seat - I replaced the headliner with gray side, and redid A-pillar covers same time - Have two factory keys and one key fob that works to unlock / lock doors - Replaced cabin air filters I will include the spare E36 parts I have accumulated. Spare new filters, wheel bearings, new brake pads, and lots of used switches, and misc. small parts. Probably will fill 1-2 totes. Central Florida is definitely more Ford vs Chevy truck country. If anyone is interested, let's chat and try to find an agreeable number. | | | 06-23-2014, 03:41 AM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: SW Florida Posts: 4,275 | I tried calling you today...no answer. If you get a chance...call me tomorrow after 3:00pm. I should be done with my work by then. 239.287.6373 __________________ Sean 1995 Active | | | 06-23-2014, 02:13 PM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2013 Location: Lakeland, FL Posts: 229 | Ah, so you are responsible for me getting the dirty look from my wife at church yesterday since I forgot to turn my phone off :-) I will call you later today | | | 06-23-2014, 06:48 PM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: SW Florida Posts: 4,275 | oOoOpS! __________________ Sean 1995 Active | | | 06-23-2014, 07:02 PM | #12 | Member Join Date: Sep 2013 Location: Summerville, SC Posts: 40 | Dang, this comes up 1 week after I drive to FL to pick up a Porsche 914 basket case. | | | 06-24-2014, 12:35 AM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2013 Location: Lakeland, FL Posts: 229 | You can drive my ti, while you restore the 914 :-) | | | 06-24-2014, 05:34 PM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2013 Location: Lakeland, FL Posts: 229 | Willing to entertain interesting convertible trades and will kick in some cash to equalize if necessary.
