So I got a 95 318ti active, the color it is as the tag reads is cosmos schwartz metallic. The paint is peeling and so is the clear coat so its time for new paint. I want to stay black was thinking a jet black perhaps. I like the paint on this 318ti especially seen below So let me know what color black, if there is any real differences Thanks! | | | 10-27-2010, 12:26 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2009 Location: nj Posts: 1,099 | My car is the same color..cosmos schwartz met.. Sometimes it looks good and sometimes it looks dirty and chipped. Jet Black(SchwarzII) looks great until you start getting rock chips and you have to wash it just about every other day. I was thinkin about changing my color as well. I've considered LSB, but there's already an LSB ti here in SoCal and you're limited to a select few wheel colors that will actually flow. Alpine White, Artic Silver and Titanium Silver are all really nice colors and hide dirt/blemishes really well. Right now I'm toying with the idea of a Granite Silver ti, it's like a metalic charcoal color. I think it's one of the few colors I can get away with without having to respray my SchwarzII engine compartment | | | 10-27-2010, 01:00 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2010 Location: Nj Posts: 120 | yeah, I like the SchwarzII and also like just Jet black , both look nice to me but Im not sure if it will be a real difference if i just go with JET | | | 10-27-2010, 01:03 AM | #5 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | If I'm not mistaken, SchwarzII is the same as Jet Black. Cosmoschwarz just has metal flake. | | | 10-27-2010, 01:17 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2010 Location: Nj Posts: 120 | ah okay, yeah cosmos looks good sometimes to me , but other times looks to light. | | | 10-27-2010, 02:04 AM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2009 Location: nj Posts: 1,099 | Jet black-668 code It's realy crapy to keep clean and like every other black sucks .. Everything shows on the paint any scuff/ scratch ect ect.. Light colors hide it better.. I bet to fully respray a car it would cost over 3k done professionally with good quality paint.. Ben.. Where In jersey are you located? __________________ 318ti MZK2 | | | 10-27-2010, 02:07 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2010 Location: Nj Posts: 120 | central nj, hunterdon county | | | 01-18-2011, 06:09 PM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2010 Location: Ottawa, ON Posts: 108 | Sorry to revive this old thread but i'm interested in what you chose!! I'm looking to repaint my baby in the spring. I have minor surface rust on the front wheel well, and some tad toothpick spots on the hood and roof. I'm i bit unsure where to start with the surface rust nor do i want to start a new thread probably because someone already made one. So if someone could direct me i would appreciate it. For the color ideas, i'm either thinking granite silver or estoril/ world rally blue. What do you guys think? P.s if anyone would like to see photo's of my arctic silver feel free to ask! | | | 04-08-2011, 10:56 PM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2010 Location: Nj Posts: 120 | Still trying to deside myself haha | | | 04-09-2011, 01:06 AM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2009 Location: Miami, FL Posts: 874 | LOL im in the same boat im thinking mean while i save up the money for it.. my car is schwartz II and well im pretty much tired of the jet black color.. so many black cars out there... theres only three colors i would love to have on my car... hellrot red... dakar yellow... and charcoal gray.. but im leaning towards the gray it looks super clean and after seeing stefans ti its like an epic win but well i guess ill think bout it until i get the funds | | | 04-23-2011, 09:15 PM | #12 | Member Join Date: Mar 2010 Location: Winnipeg Canada Posts: 45 | Rather off topic, I was just reading, but figured I'd comment, I have a hellrot ti right now, but I'm considering a color change, not sure, I need new paint for sure, but can't decide on a color. Or just leave it in the original hellrot. | | | 04-25-2011, 06:26 PM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2010 Location: Nj Posts: 120 | Id paint it red again if it needs new paint, to much work to convert completely. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
