Today was a good day for me. I finally got in touch with the dude on ebay that has the engine I bought. Long story short, I won an auction for a m52B28 with a blown head gasket for $100! Not surprisingly the dude avoided me like the plague when I asked him where I could pick it up. Today I finally figured out how to get ebay to send me his phone number and called him up. Im driving to NC tomorrow to get it!
I am really stoked about this because it will be the first time I have tried to rebuild an engine. I think I am going to try to "lock n stitch" the head if it is cracked which it probably is (check out
www.locknstitch.com, its amazing). Then, get it resurfaced, and maybe get the valves done, and if all goes right, I'll have a 328ti before too long.
Sooo, now the problem is that I need a place to put it, and this is where the big favor enters the equation. If it comes down to it I'll get a storage unit but I though I would ask if any of you Atlanta guys have some extra garage space where I can keep it for a little while and work on it until I get something more permanent figured out. I can pay some money month to month (probably wont be that long). PM me asap if you can help me out. AND you are welcome to help me with the project if you want, it should be a great learning experience for fellow non-pro DIYers.
