Graf water pumps have a cast metal impeller- I've used them, they're good quality. Pelican probably has all that stuff for about the same price and as good or better quality. | | | 07-25-2012, 06:31 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2012 Location: Chicago Posts: 172 | Why did I think I could get that in cast....Nevermind....another dream shattered! | | | 07-25-2012, 06:35 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2009 Location: Miami, FL Posts: 874 | It sounds good __________________ Mods: 325is zender spoiler, 3" carbon fiber antenna, 5% tints rear windows, black out grills, Fogged air intake, Ds1 wheels, Rokkor coilovers, bilstein rear shocks, blacked out tails and home made angel eyes | | | 07-25-2012, 06:36 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2008 Location: Los Angeles, CA Posts: 1,464 | Quote: Originally Posted by GrandpaTuner Why did I think I could get that in cast.... | You can get it in cast... when it's attached to an M42. | | | 07-25-2012, 06:36 AM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2009 Location: Miami, FL Posts: 874 | Quote: Originally Posted by zoner You can get it in cast... when it's attached to an M42. | Lol so true __________________ Mods: 325is zender spoiler, 3" carbon fiber antenna, 5% tints rear windows, black out grills, Fogged air intake, Ds1 wheels, Rokkor coilovers, bilstein rear shocks, blacked out tails and home made angel eyes | | | 07-25-2012, 07:28 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2011 Location: Broomfield,Colorado Posts: 664 | Well I compared to pelican took me a good hour but it was all the same stuff minus the thermostat and it was 15 bucks more on pelican so I will be getting this kit from eBay. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2 | Pelican doesn't sell Vernet thermostats or CRP hoses. Given the fragility of the cooling systems of these cars, that is one place where I would not compromise on quality just to save a few bucks. Also, if you're going to go through the trouble of replacing the plastic connectors in the block and head (definitely get the OEM BMW parts for these two items), you might as well replace all the hoses connected them as well. Just my $.02 There's a thread somewhere here on the forum that has a DIY on replacing all of the cooling system components (WP, hoses, plastic connectors, etc.) | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
