Did the valve cover gasket, oil supply seal, spark plugs, air filter and microfilters tonight. Man were the oil seal and gasket rock hard! No wonder the car left a puddle of oil when I parked it for 3 months when I left for school. The spark plugs were in great shape though. Now that part of the engine is taken care of, I can move onto other parts of the car to make it driveable. I hope to make a big haul from Black Friday deals! | | | 11-28-2013, 02:14 PM | #3167 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2013 Location: Sag Harbor, NY Posts: 192 | new headlights, and wrestled with M front bumper install | | | 11-28-2013, 03:58 PM | #3168 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2013 Location: Massapequa New York Posts: 113 | Quote: Originally Posted by Pinion new headlights, and wrestled with M front bumper install | Post some pics, Would love to see it. | | | 11-28-2013, 11:59 PM | #3169 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | didn't do anything to my ti's, but I did buy an M50 with the transmission, DME and wiring harness. got some big plans for spring | | | 11-29-2013, 12:23 AM | #3170 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: SW Florida Posts: 4,275 | Quote: Originally Posted by tiFreak didn't do anything to my ti's, but I did buy an M50 with the transmission, DME and wiring harness. got some big plans for spring | Nice! Lots of smoke from the old oil that dripped down though! I was worried for a bit. I then did an oil change and reset the SI lights using my ADS cable. I also cleared my airbag light using INPA and it has been good so far. Finally, I ordered a bunch of stuff from Bimmerworld for when I come back from school for winter break. They were in 1 month old condition and were absolutely perfect. Also picked up 8 used Star Specs. I should be good for the next autocross season. Going to start my build thread now! | | | 11-30-2013, 09:00 AM | #3177 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2008 Location: Los Angeles, CA Posts: 1,464 | Oh, just a little reinforcement on the rear sway mounts. Remove those and the back will come off the cluster. After that, there are several posts holding the cluster core to the front case half. Each of the posts has a "sleeve lock" that you twist to unlock. Then the cluster core can be removed from the front of the case. __________________ James 95 active w/leather interior and sport interior conversion, Vaders, full M-Tech exterior conversion. Have replaced so far; Valve cover gasket, Oil filter housing gasket and sensor, Water pump, thermostat, and yesterday, the radiator, due to a coolant leak... Bled the system twice yesterday, will do it again today for good measure. __________________ James 95 active w/leather interior and sport interior conversion, Vaders, full M-Tech exterior conversion.
