Default cleaning the panel between the front and rear windows

Can anyone recommend a good cleaner/polish for the space mentioned above?
That space is prone to scratches and finger marks as the rear passengers exit the car.
I think the (lucky) previous owner often had ring-wearing women in the back and it has scratched the panel there. Have you noticed that the slightest of finger prints will also remain there?
Any help is appreciated.

Not to sure about cleaning or polishing, but doesn't a company make inserts for that particular space, like Carbon Fiber etc..??

Have you tried a clay bar? I use it for all painted surfaces and it works wonders for me for cleaning (but not polishing)....good luck...motorwerk

Thanks for the replies....Im talking about the exterior.
Might go with the clay-bar idea. Does such a thing remove small scratches?

Hi biglunchbox,

To my understanding, claybar removes surface contamination...it doesn't remove small scratches though. To remove small scratches, you would first some sort of a polishing compound in combination with the claybar. Check out this link for more info:

CLAY FACTS - Q2 answers your question...hope this helps and good luck!...motorwerk

3m polishing compound should get rid of the fine scratches. well, and a lot of elbow grease.

if you're picking up prints easily, give the wax more time to dry before removing it from that area.
