Default Oil check valve on M42 - what?

Need some help guys. I recently had some issues that required me to take off the head, and I think I might have misplaced an item... This is on a May '95 M42.

The guide I am mainly referencing at http://www.m42club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11162 says that there is an "oil check valve" that sits in the block... mine is nowhere to be found, neither on the head or in the block.

Does anyone happen to have a picture or a clear description on WHERE this is? And what it looks like? The best I can figure is that it is #9 here, but I honestly have no idea.

As usual I am very gracious for any guidance you guys can provide!
