Default Need help with this one...

So I'm finishing up with my rebuild of my 98. It's been on and off for a year waiting/looking for parts. I labeled things I took apart and used Bentley manual to start to put the car together.

A month or so ago I started to pull the bad or soon to be bad vacuum lines and wouldn't you know it....I didn't label those and now I can't figure out where this mounts and how it's supposed to connect to other things.

According to Realoem (which I've also been using) it is the vacuum resorvoir (#7, also listed as 'container'). Here's the image:

Looking around here and other forums, I've been able to deduce that it appears to be located under the intake manifold or at least that looks like where one of the hoses goes.

Can someone tell me for sure where this goes and what it connects to?

Much appreciated.

I beleive that is for your secondary air pump valve. The side with the black/white one-way valve goes to a vacuum source then the other end after it goes threw that black log goes to the secondary air valve which should have control wires to it and is connected to the fresh air pipe that leads to your header.

I've removed mine due to a turbo header so I can't go out and verify. Sorry

All info was correct. What I don't know is where it actually mounts to. Do you happen to remember where on yours?

Thanks.

I think it was under the intake, in front of wiring box.

Also, It's not super important to bolt it to something. You could zip-tie that to something just as long as it is secure and out of the way you will be just fine.

***EDIT*** After looking at your picture again, if you have the motor together look on the head and you should find an empty bolt hole for that bolt and screw it in. It is not crucial where it is located. I'm confident it was up front but not before the oil cap. I fairly sure (80%) it was mounted on the head. Zip-tie if you can't find a hole to bolt to.

Best of luck, John S

Anyone else know where this mounts? A definitive answer would be most helpful. Thanks.

Figured it out. Attaches to engine support bracket and engine block. Thanks anyway.
