The old foam in the handle that is used a spring disintegrated. I shoved a bunch of door gasket foam under it and it works OK now. __________________ No more ti. | | | 09-04-2010, 02:10 PM | #607 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Elizabeth City, NC Posts: 3,877 | Quote: Originally Posted by Jean H.318TI I just finish installing the new engine mounts edit: the vibration is not too bad, and the power transfer feels great no more engine tranny movement its so nice | What mounts did you go with? __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | 09-05-2010, 12:52 AM | #608 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | new seats for the track rat, they look like crap but they should hold me better than the comfort seats | | | 09-05-2010, 04:36 AM | #609 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2009 Location: TN Posts: 216 | installed some h and r race springs finally i have have them for about 4 months lol | | | 09-05-2010, 04:42 AM | #610 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: norcal - 94590 Posts: 3,186 | Quote: Originally Posted by tiFreak new seats for the track rat, they look like crap but they should hold me better than the comfort seats | Brendan... It was cracked due to a broken engine mount. This guy down the street from me tig welded the pipe beautifully. It was a bitch getting the pipe off of the exhust manifold, but this thread was a huge help: http://www.318ti.org/forum/showthread.php?t=24197 Thanks Cirrus! | | | 09-05-2010, 09:16 PM | #614 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | put my new seats in the track rat, much more supportive, I also stripped the rest of the interior since my dad's friend's son just bought an E30 with a beat up blue interior so I sold it all to him for about the same price I bought the sport seats for (yes, I really used duct tape ) I also took a few pics of it, I don't think I've posted any recent shots of it on here | | | 09-05-2010, 09:49 PM | #615 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2009 Location: TN Posts: 216 | well the car has been parked for awhile because i drive a work truck which blew a head gasket this week so i am driving the ti for work till they fix/get me a new truck but since i have put it back into commission it has trouble on cold starts so....just pulled of the iacv, maf, hoses, upper intake, and tb and clean it all up. idle is alot better however i couldn't see how it was on cold start because me being the dumb ass that i am forgot to hook up the hose that goes from the intake tube to the injectors and it was pulsing really hard and about to die. and it took me about 3 minutes to find what i missed so now i am waiting for her to cool down. but on the plus side it seemed to run smoother than before. | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 8 (0 members and 8 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
