I'll drop by the dealership on Monday. How do I pull the head unit out without destroying the trims? Special tool? | | | 09-27-2009, 03:05 AM | #47 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | open the little flaps on the sides and you'll need either a long allan or torx driver, I'm not sure which size though, the Bentley manual doesn't say and I wasn't the one who installed my CD player | | | 09-27-2009, 07:36 PM | #48 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2009 Location: Georgia Posts: 595 | Thanks! | | | 09-27-2009, 11:20 PM | #49 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2009 Location: Georgia Posts: 595 | Got the head unit out. It needs a small allen wrench. It's time to shop for a new head unit. I have been driving and enjoying the car and decided to drop by the BMW dealership for the radio code. I was greeted by a nice lady at the service department and asked what my problem was. I told her that I cannot get the radio to work when the battery went flat. She had told me that they will have to schedule an appointment to leave my car so they can take out my radio and get the serial number. Well, I had told her the head unit is already out and she can get the SN. She took the SN and asked for my registration paper and driver's license, went inside the office, came back out with the code. I asked how much for the trouble? She said, "It's free and come back and see us if you need the car serviced" What a great dealership! | | | 02-15-2015, 08:53 PM | #51 | Member Join Date: Mar 2013 Location: Pelham, NY, USA Posts: 90 | Flex joint Just had my flex joint replaced, looked pretty bad.
