Default New 'ti owner

Hey guys, just wanted to give a short intro and show off my newest ride. It's my first 'ti, though I'm quite familiar with BMWs since I own an E30 and worked a few years as a BMW indie tech.

After searching for a few months for the right one, I finally picked it up this past weekend. It's an Avus Blue 1998 318ti Sport with one owner and 100k. He took very good care of it and has every single service record from day one, including the window sticker and accessories brochure from 1998. I needed a new commuter car since I sold my '92 Sentra SE-R a few weeks ago, and I'm quite happy to have an all Bimmer family again. Here she is:

The car already looks different because I added OEM clear lights last night. It gets incredible gas mileage and is quite fun to toss around. Anyway, I've been browsing the forums for awhile and already read through quite a bit, so I'm glad to finally have a car and post.

Did you buy that car around the San Diego area?
I think I've seen that one (or a similar one) for sale a while back...
Congrats on getting a ti!

Yup, sure did. I went down there about a month ago to look at it and liked what I saw. Left a deposit, then flew down a few days ago to pick it up. The previous owner is a real stand up guy and I was very happy to work with him.

Thanks! Totally agree...I was waiting awhile for one in this color. It was either Avus or Hellrot for me. I'm glad I got the blue though...I seem to have an affinity for blue BMWs.

Thank you! Yep, always garaged. Since I only have a one car garage, I had to kick my E30 out to the curb (literally, hehe) and she's not too happy about that. Ah well.

Yes. The car is a Sport so it has the M-technic trim.
The rear spoiler is an option.

Very nice car! Although I love my ti, I am still sad about selling my 91 Sentra SE-R, which I owned for six years. The ti is different (and a bit slower), but you'll like it. Just keep the revs up!
