Default Your 1/4 mile time from an auto.

I just want to do a comparison with others who had done a 1/4 mile drag with an auto 318. So post your time! thanks!

my 318i ran a 17.4s on steelies, which seems very slow.

I ran a 16.6. I had it in manual mode, put it in neutral, revved while I shifted it to first, and when the tranny finally swapped gears, I had almost pulled a wheelie. pretty good for a little 4 cyl.

^ so you actually did a neutral drop? Thats pretty bad on the tranny.

I didn't use the manual mode cause of the delay when you shift, so it's hard to time it perfectly to the redline.

I assume your car is stock? How much does a Ti weigh? You're almost a second faster than me.

Anyone else?

The first time I ran I had my system in the trunk which was really heavy and a passenger and ran 19.2 (very sad). I ran again a few weeks later by myself and no system in the trunk ran 17.4 on auto mode and havent been since then due to the embarrasment of slowness.

It doesn't need park distance control, and hates decadence. It is musclepacked, yet lightly wound. It lets you feel the asphalt and get you going with the smallest touch of the pedal. It provokes, seduces, and demands to be driven hard. It looks, sounds, and smells like performance.

I had the exhaust and intake which is a rob in hp cause its jsut a filter sucking in hot air. I dont remember if the chip was installed at that time, but no transmision chip.

I never ran an 1/4 mile, but I have run 1/8 mile strip. I ran a 10.9 as my best time.

So you have the Dinan transmission chip right now? How do you like it? Does it help your car rev faster or does it just simply raise the rev limiter?

what does the dinan tranny chip actually do? Raise the rev limiter for sure, but does it actually do anything more?

hmm, yea, my car is stock. HuGo, I'll try and get a pic w/ the front wheels trying to leave the ground. the neutral start hits the tranny hard, but it makes you go faster. I'll be putting a new tranny in someday, so...
