Default 1998 316i compact s52 conversion?

I have a 98 316i compact right hand drive. Can I swap the engine for an s52 with 6 speed tranny? Is this ODBI or II? Answer only if you are sure or if you have a link to someone with correct information.

If the donor car is RHD, I don't foresee any problems with your swap.

Since your car is OBD-II, I suggest your donor car be OBD-II (same year if possible) and be aware the dealer will be required for EWS and ECU allignment after the instalation is complete.

I also suggest the M Roadster / M coupe rear sub frame be aquired and installed at the same time. M3 front suspension and brakes really is required once the swap is done to carry the weight and stop the monster...

I offer a swap manual for this application (obviuosly for LHD, but it has plenty of useful information) PM if interested...
