That is the problem no one makes a heatshield suitable for complete sealing of the cone with an intake for the m42/44 engines. The ECIS shield is made for the 6 cyl applications only last I talked to Sean (one of the Owners) he said they were working on something...that was about 6-7 months ago! I was trying to do it myself but I got side tracked with other projects. I am going to try again when I get the time.

UPDATE: I have started work on the intake shield project again and this time I took a whole other route, I think I have it licked!
So far the kit will be for 92-95 OBD1 cars only! OBD2 cars will be soon to follow...one thing at a time I will need a test mule when the time is right though (OBD2) anybody in Westchester/NYC area? more details later with pics...guaging interest. interested parties contact me via e-mail at kinkajou74@hotmail.com subject 318 intake I am making a list and will contact all with the info. Expect another update in about 2 weeks.

I'd like to know more about this too, I was thinking of putting in that K&N filter as well for my '98 318ti
