Also, neither is 318ti specific, but both have a little information about ti's, so between the two you can usually find what you're looking for. Sometimes the Bentley explains things better, sometimes the Haynes does. Pelicanparts has an alright technical section too, but I think this forums knowledge base is the best source of information on the internet. Plus you have a dozen or so of us that on here regularly and eager to help with first hand knowledge | | | 12-28-2011, 12:03 AM | #18 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | Quote: Originally Posted by Philly wouldn't leaving that exposed, draw unfiltered air into the engine? | Yep, but more so it allows air and oil to blow out. | | | 12-31-2011, 06:53 PM | #19 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2011 Location: Texxas Posts: 110 | Well I have a hose on it right now, but nothing on the end of the hose. Guess I'll buy the CCV, but I'll find a hose to hookup to it because no way am I paying 30 for a double hose when I only need one of the hoses. PO swears that I don't need the valve but it definitely can't hurt to have it on there. | | | 12-31-2011, 07:45 PM | #20 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | Quote: Originally Posted by NeoMishMoo Well I have a hose on it right now, but nothing on the end of the hose. Search the forum and you'll see dozens of cases where the CCV was culprit to high idles, low idles, rough idles. Typically when they go bad they hiss. These engines are so sensitive to leaks, any unmetered air entering the engine after the MAF will cause it to run rough and possibly misfire. Removing the dipstick or oil cap while it's running will give you misfires and a really rough idle. | | | 01-06-2012, 06:05 AM | #21 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2011 Location: Texxas Posts: 110 | man i'm used to the m20, thats one of the least sensitive engines ever. thing is a tank. john boy constantly blows ccv's under boost pressure. guess i gotta figure something out. | | | 01-06-2012, 07:38 AM | #22 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2011 Location: Vancouver, B.C.
