I've heard that a chip moves the rev limiter up to 7000 rpm but i have no knowledge of having one. Would there be any other reason (ie. canadian car) for not having the rev limiter at 6500 rpm? | | | 05-19-2006, 08:23 AM | #2 | Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: Rimini, Italy (Europe) Posts: 73 | the rev limiter is at 6500 rpm but your rpm pointer in a tacho when limiter is on, marks 6750....6800 in total red square... test again your car! moreover, tha valve idraulic lifter and the armonic damper, FAIL at 7200 rpm........ __________________ I'am italian! | | | 05-19-2006, 08:39 AM | #3 | Member Join Date: Sep 2005 Location: Vancouver, B.C. Canada Posts: 92 | I have a 95 as well I also have canadian 95 318ti and it reved all the way to 7 grand as well, but once you get there it starts bouncing. I recently got the Dinan chip and now when I rev to 7,000 rpm it just stays down it does not bounce. | | | 06-04-2006, 04:24 PM | #4 | Junior Member Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: SC Posts: 14 | could i put that dinan chip in my 96 ti? | | | 06-04-2006, 09:07 PM | #5 | Junior Member Join Date: May 2006 Location: Greece,Athens Posts: 20 | The rev limiter is at 6600,so that you have a well working car! On OB2 cars you can't chip it,your ecu has to be reprogrammed or something on the lines of that. __________________ 98 Avus Blue 318 ti Active clear outs all around, stealth turning signals, blue led interior lights, 35% tinted windows,K&N air filter, 12" Kenwood Sub, MTX Thunder Amp,Alpine cd changer, Leatherz Armrest,ACS Pedals/Handbrake/FloorMats & Vitesse Tuning Carbon Fiber B-Pillars/CF Spark Plug Cover, New 16" MSW Typer 14 Rims on Goodyear Triple Treds www.myspace.com/avusblueti | | | 06-04-2006, 09:48 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2006 Location: Canada Posts: 182 | how could i find out if my 95 base ti would be ob2, or ob1? | | | 06-04-2006, 09:51 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2005 Location: Vancouver, B.C. Nope, thats not my Ti for sale on CG's site, but i get that a lot, they look fairly alike. That Ti was just bought by a 318ti.org member up in Okanagan. I won’t be at the autoX, but I’ll be at CG's Re-Grand opening on June the 24th. My Ti will be there, as well as a bunch of CG's other project cars. Come check it out if you can. If you need any more info, just Pm me. __________________ | | | 06-05-2006, 12:55 AM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2005 Location: Puerto Rico Posts: 885 | how or where i remap o reprogam my ecu?mine is 97 so is obdII righ? please explain a little bit __________________ BMW...MY NEW TOY Mods: Some plastic parts, ///M Wheels and me | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
