Takes 1.5-2 years to get a patent. __________________ ... ʎɐqǝ uo pɹɐoqʎǝʞ ɐ ʎnq ı ǝɯıʇ ʇsɐן ǝɥʇ sı sıɥʇ | | | 05-07-2009, 08:38 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2009 Location: new york Posts: 511 | well then its filed is what i meant lol. | | | 05-07-2009, 08:44 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: Wisconsin Posts: 1,895 | Gotcha. Keep it quite for a couple years. I filed for one a year and a half ago and I'm still waiting. The problem is, just because you filed doesn't mean somebody can't run with it while you are still getting legally protected and organized. I hope you make a billion $. __________________ ... ʎɐqǝ uo pɹɐoqʎǝʞ ɐ ʎnq ı ǝɯıʇ ʇsɐן ǝɥʇ sı sıɥʇ | | | 05-07-2009, 08:46 PM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2009 Location: new york Posts: 511 | lol thanks haha it would just be a cool thing to see work | | | 05-07-2009, 08:55 PM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: state college, pa Posts: 3,431 | Quote: Originally Posted by b.u.ti-ful Gotcha. Infringement during that time is also protected, entitling you to damages (money + injunction). That doesn't mean that some enterprising individual can't obtain a patent on a similar invention that would obscure your own. But, there are a billion factors to take into account. __________________ I scream, you scream, we all scream for ZOMBIES. | | | 05-07-2009, 09:02 PM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: Wisconsin Posts: 1,895 | That sounds right, but somebody with a patent attorney ready to go can file quickly - the original thread poster may not be that far into it yet. __________________ ... ʎɐqǝ uo pɹɐoqʎǝʞ ɐ ʎnq ı ǝɯıʇ ʇsɐן ǝɥʇ sı sıɥʇ | | | 05-07-2009, 09:03 PM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2009 Location: new york Posts: 511 | Its completely filed my dad has a patent attorney which he called for me and so on went to the office and bing done. lol | | | 05-07-2009, 09:09 PM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: Wisconsin Posts: 1,895 | Nice - that saved you a few grand! __________________ ... ʎɐqǝ uo pɹɐoqʎǝʞ ɐ ʎnq ı ǝɯıʇ ʇsɐן ǝɥʇ sı sıɥʇ | | | 05-07-2009, 11:00 PM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Elizabeth City, NC Posts: 3,877 | Did you do any searches to see if a patent for this idea already exists? __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | 05-07-2009, 11:51 PM | #15 | That's not Millpoint Blue Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: BNA Posts: 3,161 | Quote: Originally Posted by spidertri Did you do any searches to see if a patent for this idea already exists? | +1 Or at least some serious googling? __________________ Real men know how to SEARCH!
