This guy will 100% take care of every tuning aspect of your car plus he is super cool to work with. Your car will run like it never has before and you will be nothing but amazed at what the final tune is. I 100% back up what I say because I run his tunes and he was the only tuner to make things right on my car. People may think I say this because I make money off Barrie but I don't, due to the economy we broke it off months ago and I have not done any work for him, I make nothing by saying any of this. I still support him because I believe in his products. Truth, John S | | | 03-26-2011, 11:26 PM | #47 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: Portland Or Posts: 2,666 | There are two parts, 1. The tuner has to understand the engine tuning principals, and the experience to make the right choices. 2. They have to have the tools to correctly tune the car. You gotta blow up a lot of engines to learn it... Hopefully not other peoples... That is why your car would not start | | | 03-30-2011, 07:13 PM | #50 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2005 Location: Florida Posts: 2,525 | I guess I would need a better explanation of why it would sometimes start if it is in fact believed to be an EWS issue. We used the stock chip with updated maps on the later chips, at least that is what was said. Once I had the moates burner, I burned that same stock.bin file to a 512k chip and it starts the car with no issue. Quote: what do you think of the ostrich 2.0 i bought one.. now i just need fdx file i tried look around for a free down load no luck to im buying it from Barrie. it seems way bette than war chip and its been around way longer.. | Ostrich and WAR chip are both just tools. Those tools are only as good as your knowledge or the knowledge and support that comes along with the tools. If the guys at Miller are trying to use motronic 1.7 maps to adjust a motronic 1.7.2 system, it will never work. The tracing features of the ostrich are probably not needed if you buy a properly authored .xdf file unless you want to do something beyond what is in the xdf file. Miller chip only hits a few maps for the WAR chip. Also the map fuction for fuel is only a snipit of what you need to control a turbo setup, you need full control not aonly a few adjustments that Miller offers. The issue you are having right now with Miller tuning is the WOT fuel control is not even accessable since Miller has not figured out how to master that part of the map. Even if you make a change in the programming and hit the Miller chip with it there will be no changes and you are still running the base fuel map at WOT. They will need to figure this out or hire someone to do it for them. Barrie knows all map locations including DISA (mohaughn). After you know all locations of the maps you can alter anything in the code and make the car run anyway you want. Emulating the BMW base code offers the best flexability and total control so you can do anything you want. It is the best of the best when you can do this as a DIY at home and not need to wait on a chip. Also Barrie offers lightning quick service if you don't want to do the tuning and he will help you get it right. Barrie supports his products 100% John Smith | | | 04-01-2011, 07:59 PM | #52 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2005 Location: Florida Posts: 2,525 | Quote: Originally Posted by blowin 4 miller chip cost me $ 100.00 my starter went out from cold start cranking . its been a week and no return call got to love there customer service ...Do i have the right to a refund on a product that never worked on my car ??? hahahahhaha | Definitely you deserve a refund if it never worked as they advertised. If they are telling you to wait three months, you should have the choice of getting a refund instead of waiting. I always suggest being civil and nice when dealing with these kinds of situations. It doesn't really help you to go yell at them, if they have your money. You can yell once they refund you.. | | | 04-02-2011, 03:10 AM | #53 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: Portland Or Posts: 2,666 | Quote: Originally Posted by mohaughn Definitely you deserve a refund if it never worked as they advertised. But I always give teh vendor a chance, remember your recourse often dies at 30 days after purchase for this type of challenge.
