Default Might pick up a 318ti next weekend

Just wanted to post it up here to see what you guys thought.

My grandfather recently picked up a 97 318ti and told me he will sell it to me for $1900. He's driven it for about a month now, put over 1k miles on it and he says it runs like a top, looks nice, and nothing is wrong with the car. It's got 157k miles and unfortunately it's an auto. Not sure what trim it has because I've never seen the car (the only thing I know for sure is that there is no cruise control). The only thing wrong with the car is the passenger side window will not roll down. I was going to go up next weekend to take a look at it. The only catch is that it is a salvage title because of a theft recovery.

I'm mainly looking for something to replace my ES300 as a daily driver considering I drive 50 miles round trip each day to work and that car doesn't even get 20mpg. The 318ti should get somewhere around 30 according to him, and this forum. What do you guys think?

Sounds like he is giving you a pretty good deal.

The window issue is common.

Most people tend to prefer the stick, but I like my auto just fine.

sounds like a good deal to me too, if it doesn't have cruise that means it doesn't have the active package, but it could still have the sport package

check the knowledge base for a write-up on fixing the window

if you're not in a hurry to fix it, Jess should be getting some pictures up soon
