Default Has anyone tried Tein H-Tech Springs?

Hi,

I tried a search on "Tein", but didn't find much on this forum. Has anyone tried the Tein H-Tech springs? I need to replace my struts/shocks. I'm thinking that while I'm in there, I might as well replace the springs.

I want a rejuvenated suspension after banging over speed bumps at low speed, but I don't really want the drop/wear issues of the H&R Sports. Also, my wife doesn't like a harsh ride, so I'm looking for something comparable to the stock M-Tech suspension.

I was actually calling about a set of Eibachs, but they have been discontinued. The support tech mentioned that the Tein H-Techs only drop the car about 1" and are designed to work with the OEM shocks/struts. That sounded interesting, so I'm thinking of going with the Tein H-Tech springs and Sachs/Boge OEM M-Tech shock/struts to get close to the original ride characteristics.

Has anyone tried this combo? Or should I just do like I originally planned and replace the struts/shocks with the original Sachs and call it a day?

I got a big improvement in handling without drop on my 98 base model by installing a set of Bilstein HD shocks.

I might go the same route. My car looks level without any noticeable sagging, so I'm going to measure the ride height. If its even and close to spec, I'm probably just going to replace the shocks and struts.

I'd still welcome any input on the Tein springs as my Plan B option. Or if anyone knows where I can get a set of Eiback pro-kit springs, please let me know!

Does Tein make springs for the ti? Looks like they only make coupe/sedan springs.

You're right. I was told by a sales rep that they make springs for the ti, but the website shows generic e36 springs. Would the rear springs even fit? I'm assuming that the rest of the 3-series uses different length springs because of the multi-link suspension, right? There's also the weight issue too.

I would make 100% sure before you do anything. Most sales guys dont know ****. They just tell you what you want to hear so they can make that sale. Weight will def be an issue in your choice. Remember that everything is Ti specific on the arse end.
