This is the perfect 318ti replacement differential. It is close to the stock 3.45 Clubsport diff, but a much better diff that is built for more power. Easy swap for 318ti and a great upgrade for the non- limited slip cars. Asking $300 plus shipping

Hate to blow a sale but you will burn up the clutch packs. If you are going to drop a 6 cylinder you really should use the larger diff. The ratio is OK. But that is a really good price.

Did it come from an e30 6 cyl? How is it built for more power?

I think E30 and E36 6 cylinder diffs are the same.
But they are physically larger. My guess, more metal and more fluid.

Plus I have the M Coupe cooling fins.

But to my knowledge only the e30 6cyl diffs (with the half shaft swap) and M coupe are compatible. Didn't think e36ers work. So Clubsport, where did this come from? Don't take me wrong- I'm sure it's a good quality part and you know your stuff. Just curious from the wording. ;}

E36 6 cylinders will work with some modifing, maybe a different flange?
There was a LSD made for the 4 cylinder too.
That is the one it looks like he is selling.

Don't get me wrong. It's a good deal.
I'm just saying IF someone is going to put a bigger engine or even a DASC, I don't know if that is the way to go.

Sorry for the confusion on this topic. The Differrential is the larger 6 cylinder diff from the e30. Also the e36 differential absolutely will not fit a Z-link car no matter how much you modify it. The Mc coupe differential is a good diff, but the 3.46 diff is much better for a 4 cylinder car or a very quick 330ti. Ben Liaw put the same differential in his famous 330ti. He opted for this instead of the m coupe differentail becasue it was much better for track use. Do a search for Rouge engineering and his 330ti o verify.

WHEW. Then this *is* a good deal!
I have a 3.46 and like it a lot.

You can also use an E24 diff which is much larger and heavier duty and it will bolt right in, thats what i used for the diff in my car and its also a 3.46 limited slip and they are much easier to find than M coupe diffs. If you use the E24 diff you must change the axle flanges from a e30 325 or an M3 and run the larger axles as well from the same donor car...

I think all the diffs are the same except the diff covers are different. Also i think al 3.46 differential are from the E24. I know all the e30 guys used these to upgrade their 325is for track use.
