Wow... how many miles on that engine?

It could be anything... no there is not one magic screw to turn that will make all that noise go away.

Do you know how to use a screwdriver as a stethoscope? You put the metal end to the engine at various places and put your ear up against the handle, you should be able to hear that tapping sound and narrow down where it's coming from. Move the screwdriver around to various places and try to tell from the relative loudness of the sound whether it's happening in just one cylinder, or in all cylinders.

Is there a noticeable lack of power throughout the powerband? how easily does the engine rev past idle?

Do you see any white smoke coming from the exhaust?

Is there any oil in it?

haha... not sure where else to go, but you have a long troubleshooting process ahead of you. If you don't already own a Bentley manual, you might consider picking one up.

good luck

Is there oil in that engine?
Could be the chain tensioner or chain guides, too.
Did you do any engine work to that thing before it started making that noise?
