It works on non EWS2 cars, so pre 1/95 build and with ECU ending in 990. They used to burn custom software for OBD1 BMW's back in the day....this was not an inexpensive process. I am asking only $95 shipped to you! Less than a 1/3 of what this cost new. Raise the rev limiter? change the F/A Map for high end? Low end? My car has a build date of 10/95 so I guess it won't work for mine... but tell us what this thing does! | | | 03-11-2009, 02:50 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2008 Location: Hawaii Kai Posts: 232 | Raised rev limiter, more aggressive fuel map for overall hp/torque gains. Great chip. | | | 03-18-2009, 06:05 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2008 Location: Hawaii Kai Posts: 232 | Need this gone, make an offer. | | | 03-18-2009, 08:10 PM | #6 | Member Join Date: Jul 2008 Location: ny Posts: 62 | ok i am interested but how can i tell the build date and the ending of my ecu (not trying to be a noob just want to make sure i dont buy anyhting that wont work on my car) also prob another noobish question if it increases the rev limiter what does that exactly mean like explain it if you where explaining it to a complete idiot with a lil bit of knowledge | | | 03-18-2009, 09:11 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2008 Location: Hawaii Kai Posts: 232 | You need to check your build date on the door jamb on the drivers side. As lone as it is 12/94 and before, you are good. Stock rev limiter is just over 6500, this allows you to rev closer to 7K and adjusts timing for better power. | | | 04-06-2009, 07:36 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2008 Location: Hawaii Kai Posts: 232 | $50 | | | 04-06-2009, 10:52 PM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2007 Location: Rocky Hill, CT Posts: 1,065 | Man, I wanna buy it for that price, and I don't even have a 4cyl. __________________ 1995 318TI base. 95 2.5L from 325IS.
