I'm the owner of a 1996 318 TI. I'll add more details in the future as i get to know this site + my car better. Call me a weenie but I bought the car almost two years ago as a vanity car and now with gas price's sky rocketing it's a hell of a lot cheaper to operate than my Custom Ford E-150 with a mighty big V-8. But, and there is always a but, with high milage on the Bimmer the repair bills are starting to mount. Recently front stabilizer bars n bushings, a replaced air bag and wiring, a passenger side window's regulator and clamps, a new muffler to replace the pimp muffler the previous owner put on and now my mechanic says there's a noise coming from under the car that's sort of a hum/ grind. I'm bracing myself for the worst. Capitol One loves my car almost as much as I do. BTW, it's Alaska Blue. Praise the lord and pass the ammunition I own an expensive race horse ! I'll snap a few pic's before I go to my mechanic tomorrow morning. It's a beautiful car, I think I'm in love and my girl friend is beginning to get jealous. I'm spending more money on the car than on her Cheers J-9 | | | 07-10-2008, 03:58 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: Orange County, NY Posts: 1,067 | What's up neighbor. I have a story about Orange County, but it doesn't involve my car. Pictures of my ride coming soon. I just found out today that the vibration under my car is the bearing rings around the transmission shaft coming loose. Can't wait to find out what that's going to cost me. UGH !! My wheels rub against the frame when I take left turns hard. I'm holding off on that repair as long as possible. So I just moved into NY last year. I used to live in NJ for like 20+ years. It's kinda nice here though and I think I'll end up raising my family here when I become a parent. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
