So your speedo tries to keep you from speeding by telling you you're going faster than you really are. On Interstate 15 coming back from Vegas I hit the speed limiter at 125 or so, in my 99' TI Sport. I also have a 95' 318IS, and have gotten it up to 135 on the 210 around Flintridge. With a 345 rear end though I am almost pushing 6K, I think the exact RPMS are like 55 or 5600. So I am think the speed is going to be around 140, maybe 145 tops. -Chad | | | 03-04-2005, 07:43 PM | #35 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Bremerhaven, Germany Posts: 977 | Would 5800 rpm be about right? That would be 118 mph in fifth when the U.S. speed limiter steps in and takes away the punchbowl. The top speed when you remove the limiter is 213 km/h or 132 mph. | | | 03-07-2005, 03:13 AM | #36 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2004 Location: Sydney, Australia Posts: 593 | 145mph with a 3.45 diff @ 7000 rpms | | | 03-07-2005, 03:32 AM | #37 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2005 Location: Fort Collins, CO Posts: 1,305 | like 90 or 95 i think...Sure I may sound like a pansy but I've had enough court dates and I'm not looking for anymore...I have the most fun driving on twisty mountain roads though...not too fast but it's a lot of fun when you're going like 50 or so | | | 03-07-2005, 04:32 AM | #38 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2004 Location: Muncie, Indiana Posts: 1,551 | hehe.....135 in Z4 3.0 | | | 03-15-2005, 09:22 PM | #39 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: Springfield, Va Posts: 164 | 123mph at 6k rpm....not bad, but then my clutch disengaged and i cried | | | 03-15-2005, 10:23 PM | #40 | Junior Member Join Date: Jul 2004 Location: palm harbor, fl Posts: 12 | On a school field trip i passed the teacher going about 110mph on a bridge in my stock '97. And that would really suck. __________________ Nick 1995 BMW 318iC. Pretty stupid thing to do with two other people in the car. I was 16 and that was a long time ago! | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
