I am returning the KO pile of manure I just received yesterday. Let me see the kit you have for sale. I'm ready and willing to make a deal, as soon as I know what you have. Is the kit complete with everyhting it came with from Downing? How many miles was it on the car? Is the supercharger in your posession, or still on it's way to you? Is the supercharger in your posession, or still on it's way to you? | I do have the kit in my possession. This kit was from a Z3. The supercharger itself was sent to Magnuson to rebuilt, it has 1,100 miles on it. Its basically a new blower (you see that it has a little different color, if you follow the link to bimmerforums). Everything is the same on this kit EXCEPT for few things that are different. I talked to Jim at Downing and here is what he told me what is different between the Z3 vs 318ti kit: 1. Elbow........$295.00 2. ISC Adapter...$155.00 3. Throttle Cable....$50.00 4. MAF Sensor Bracket...$75.00 5. Miscellaneous Hoses....$150.00 I also talked to Joe_Z and he told me not to buy these from Downing, he basically told me to source it from NAPA for a fraction of what Downing charges. I searched on bimmerforums and saw that Silver00spike, a member on this forum installed a Z3 kit into his 318ti, so if anyone interested in this kit can ask him about the install and where he sourced the different parts. I got this kit from Joe_Z for $2,000.00 shipped so I am selling it at the same price, basically, I am losing $50.00 on shipping out of the whole deal. I need to sell this kit to fund my engine swap by 1st week of December. If there is no taker by that time, then I will keep the kit and install it in my car. L8, the KO kit looks horrible! Who's gonna put that in there car!? It looks like it's gonna blow right out of the box! | | | 11-19-2005, 04:42 PM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2004 Location: Manassas, VA Posts: 4,129 | Add up all the missing parts, and you have about $700.00. I am in no mood to start chasing parts down to build a supercharger. That approach will end up as ugly as the design of the KO supercharger. The only way I would buy this kit, is if I get the missing parts from Downing Atlanta. That means the kit is more like $2700.00 to me...USED! For that price, I would just do a group buy on a new DASC. Quote: Originally Posted by Blackie I do have the kit in my possession. This kit was from a Z3. I am just disclosing what I know about this kit, I dont want some buyer to get this kit and and later complain about it. And seriously, this is the genuine DASC kit, with few missing parts for the ti, nothing can be as ugly as the KO kit!
