correct, i have an m42 and have no sensor...on the m44, i think you have to drill a hole in the pipe to mount it...but you should talk to someone with an m44 for further details

Yeah Im gonna be that guy and bump the year old thread.

I wish you would have added that in on the original write up, that would have been helpful to know before I read the whole thing. This sucks, I just bought this intake and was planning on doing this (we get a lot of rain and floods here) until I saw the part about the intake sensor. Looks like Ill have to come up with my own solution or maybe just bite the bullet and start drilling holes. Nice write up though.

Drill a hole, get yourself a grommet. I'm sure a store will have one that will work. You could try e-mailing cosmosracing and see if they'll sell you one?

again sorry for bumping an old thread but i went on the cosmos racing website and saw they have an intake for the m44 and it says theres a hole predrilled for the air intake sensor and it says it fits the ti. So this one will fit our cars with no need to drill i think.
Also theres one with a 3.5" evo pipe is there any reason why this one wouldnt fit in our cars aswell?

It would not fit, because we do not have the euro 3.5" MAF.

Back from inactivity, I had Solid Works for drafting courses I had to take in college...other than that, I don't use it much.

as long as you buy the correct one for your car....

dont get the 3.5" diameter...and get either the m44 one or the m42 one....it should fit

What the OP did is essentially throw away the short section of the pipe which had the predrilled hole in it and he only used the longer section. Since the M42 doesn't need the predrilled hole it doesn't matter to him. For those of us with the M44, if you follow these instructions, you will need to drill a hole in the longer piece of the intake.

For the record, I decided to Fogg my airbox because its cheap and does the same thing essentially.

I purchased the m42 kit which never had a pre drilled hole...it had no hole drilled at all. If you have an m44, I am not sure where the hole is...short pipe? If it is in the short pipe, then you will have to drill a new hole.
