Besides RD, apparently someone have transplanted the V12 from an 850 into a compact.

I've given it an eyeballing, and it seems quite feasable to me (as far as room under the hood goes) but I think it's a waste of time personally.

This is not to say I would not gladly do a swap like this for someone if they wanted to pay for it (I'm certain it will not be cheap to 'pull off'.

Looks like I will have to add a joint to the steering shaft. run some block hugger headers. I will post the results in a few weeks.

Been thinking about this transplant myself - from my research you should just fab some custom headers yourself.

A four liter from a 540 would be MUCH easier, and just as good...

The motor and trans mounts are made. the only real problem is the steering. To clear the headers the steering column will have to be moved down and the rack moved to the left a little. should be on the road in a few weeks. Just had to drop the steering column 2" and tilt the rack down in the back and over 3/4".

It's alive, drove it around the shop several times. It is not completely finished. right now it has a stock 305HO from a SS monte, after a couple months of shake down I will throw in a 350-400 HP 350. Although it does want to spin the tires all the time w/ the 305. Soon i will have all the frontend back on for some street time.
