Posts: 3,156 | I've given it an eyeballing, and it seems quite feasable to me (as far as room under the hood goes) but I think it's a waste of time personally. This is not to say I would not gladly do a swap like this for someone if they wanted to pay for it (I'm certain it will not be cheap to 'pull off'. | | | 07-22-2004, 01:48 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2004 Location: Columbia S.C. Posts: 127 | Looks like I will have to add a joint to the steering shaft. run some block hugger headers. I will post the results in a few weeks. | | | 07-22-2004, 01:54 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Littleton, CO Posts: 190 | Been thinking about this transplant myself - from my research you should just fab some custom headers yourself. __________________ Custom Cold Air Intake, Custom IAT controller, SuperSprint Exhaust, High Flow CAT, Long Tube Header, H&R 'Race' Lowering springs, Short Shifter, JB Racing Lightweight Flywheel, M3 Clutch Kit w/Rogue Semi-Metalic Disk, Zex Nitrous System, Euro Clear Corners, Elipsoid Headlights w/Halos, Eyebrows, Window Tinting, Invisible Bra | | | 07-22-2004, 10:20 PM | #6 | Moderator Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Bouncing off the rev limiter in CT! Posts: 127 | The motor and trans mounts are made. the only real problem is the steering. To clear the headers the steering column will have to be moved down and the rack moved to the left a little. should be on the road in a few weeks. Just had to drop the steering column 2" and tilt the rack down in the back and over 3/4". | | | 08-29-2004, 05:43 PM | #8 | Junior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Atlanta Posts: 11 | my buddie is currently dropping a LT1 350 in his 325i, its almost done. ill post pics when its done | | | 08-30-2004, 02:02 AM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2003 Location: Wilmington, NC Posts: 641 | i'm not too big on putting chevy internals into a german car __________________ 18'' Ace Wheels • Pirelli P7000 SS Tires • Bosal Brospeed Exhaust • B&M Short Throw Kit • H&R Sport Springs • Euro Clears • cat delete • Rogue Engineering Clutch Stop • Modded Airbox • blacked out kidney grilles • Suede Headliner/A Pillars S52 CONVERSION UNDERWAY | | | 08-30-2004, 02:25 AM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2004 Location: Ohio Posts: 183 | That is Blasphemy...I wouldn't even put anything from Chevy in my Lawn Mower....! __________________ DannyBoy 1997 318tiA Sport, 99,500 miles, All original except for APC Super White Bulbs. | | | 08-30-2004, 03:12 AM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Tyler, TX Posts: 1,022 | Quote: Originally Posted by ddiorio1313 That is Blasphemy...I wouldn't even put anything from Chevy in my Lawn Mower....! | I ran over the serpentine belt to a chevy with my lawn mower, does that count | | | 08-30-2004, 12:17 PM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2004 Location: Ohio Posts: 183 | Excellent! __________________ DannyBoy 1997 318tiA Sport, 99,500 miles, All original except for APC Super White Bulbs. | | | 09-15-2004, 10:21 PM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2004 Location: Columbia S.C. Posts: 127 | It's alive, drove it around the shop several times. It is not completely finished. right now it has a stock 305HO from a SS monte, after a couple months of shake down I will throw in a 350-400 HP 350. Although it does want to spin the tires all the time w/ the 305. Soon i will have all the frontend back on for some street time. | | | 09-15-2004, 10:50 PM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Tyler, TX Posts: 1,022 | Sounds interesting.
